Industrial Grunge

We are pretty excited about a bunch of new items in the shop. These heavy duty pieces are so functional, but stylish and unique at the same time. I know there are not a lot of (any that I know of?) industrial loft spaces around here, but these would be great for a trendy family room or office/creative space. Or dare I say it, maybe in the man cave? Naa, these are too cool to hide in my husband's basement hangout. :)

Industrial Army trunk turned coffee table

Organizer for creative ideas and magazines with chalkboard for notes

Heavy duty creative grunge file cabinet

Metal sculptural art

Faucet knob vintage ruler coat hanger

So fun! And a we have a few more industrial pieces in the works too!

Our DIY this month is on how to make simple coffee filter flowers that have a very vintage romantic look. We bought two sizes of coffee filters, a small and a large. We boiled some water and added instant coffee. We soaked some of the filters in that, wrung them out and laid them out flat to dry. Then we boiled more water and added red food coloring to soak them in. We put quite a bit in, and of course the more red food coloring the darker pink they will be. It's also fun to mix the coffee and food coloring together for some lighter dirtier pinks. We had about 4 different colors all together. Next we simply glued them together in the middle. We did 3 layers for each flower. Smaller ones in front and crinkled up by loosely folding them in half twice before gluing the bottom of that to the middle of your other layers. They can be great for wall or table decorations, or to glue all around a wreath. Simple, but sweet. :)
