Please let us know as soon as possible if you are planning on taking an adult class, so that we know how many supplies to order in.
Our DIY this month is perfect for a fun fall decoration. Just find the cheapest and ugliest fake pumpkins you can. And check for sales, because even ugly pumpkins can be expensive.
You will need an old brush, a saucer, some glue, some old books you don't want any more, glitter (optional) and a pumpkin. Pour some glue in a saucer. Begin ripping up pages from your books, even more appropriate if they have a scary theme :). Brush glue (I used PVA bookbinding glue) on the back of your book page strip and glue down around your pumpkin.
Continue gluing strips until your pumpkin is covered. Let your pumpkin dry for at least 1/2 hour. Next, coat the outside with a good quality decoupage medium (I used PPA).
Let that dry and coat one more time. Finally, spray it with a varnish sealer. I covered the ugly stem with glitter to coordinate with the glitter covered pumpkin I made, which is essentially the same process, just much messier :). Happy Fall!

We were so privileged that this amazing couple asked us to do all the decorations and flowers for their wedding.
I'm planning on doing a full post on the wedding and decorations when we get photos from the photographer, but for now couldn't resist a teaser :).

We are so thankful to the bridal party and family for helping set up and tear down everything, and of course to the bride and groom for choosing us to help make their day special! Congrats Eduardo and Holly! xoxo

Our DIY this month is a great way to repurpose old metal TV trays. Just give the tray a fresh coat of paint (for regular paint, spray paint adheres great), drill two holes in the top, and string a pretty ribbon through for a magnetic message board. For this board, I used chalkboard paint so that messages can be both written on the tray and stuck on with magnets. Usually, brush on chalkboard paint is more durable than spray on chalkboard paint and will still adhere well to metal. To drill the holes, you'll want a high powered drill and a fairly large bit (I used a 3/8 inch bit). Just measure equal distances from each side and mark it with a pencil. Then drill holes where your marks are. If you don't have a drill, find a large nail and hammer it through the tray to create your holes. String your ribbon through and tie a pretty bow at the top to hang it with.
Enjoy your fun new message board. :)
We finally joined instagram and are posting lots of photos of new items throughout the week. We would love to have you follow us! Just click here: http://instagram.com/laceylemmert

Our DIY this month is a fun way to package gift cards, jewelry, or other small gifts. Pillow boxes work great for this and there are so many pretty cardstock paper designs to chose from. Here's what you'll need: scissors, glue, bone folder, circular lid or pattern, and one sheet of 12x12 cardstock
Fold back both sides, one overlapping the other, to the desired width. Just line up the top and bottom edges of the paper to keep your fold straight. Run a line of glue along one side and glue the overlapping side down to it.
Next, center your lid or circle pattern onto the top edge of your paper. The smaller the circle, the deeper and shorter your box will be. This box is about 5.5 inches wide and I usually use a lid that is 6.5-8.5 inches in diameter for this size.
Using the pointed end of your bone folder, score along the edge of the lid. Do this at the top and bottom of your paper and cut along the score lines. Then line the lid up the other way to the corners of your box, so that outer curve is going in toward the center of your box. Score along the lid. Do this 4 times; on both sides of your box, on the top and the bottom.
Next, carefully fold in along your score line, starting with the seamed side of your box first.
Fold in all sides.
Finally, decorate with ribbons and tags :)
We hope your summer is going great!

Our DIY this month comes from my current obsession with lace. :)
I've been making a lot of these little beauties lately and here's how: First, pick out some pretty lace, trim lace is the easiest to work with for this. The wider your lace, the larger your flower will be. And make sure it's long, you will probably need about a yard for 1-2 inch wide lace. Thread a needle with thread the color of your lace and knot the end a good 3-4 times. Run a loose basting stitch through the bottom of the lace trim.
Every so often, scrunch your lace together, sliding it down to your knotted end of thread, but not too tightly. When you've finished, knot that end and cut off the extra thread. Cut out a circle (about 2 inches in diameter) of felt in a color that matches your lace. Using fabric glue, start gluing your lace down along the outside edge of the circle (I had super wide lace so mine is closer to the center than usual).
Continue gluing down, spiraling the lace into the center of your circle. Then attach a hair clip or pin to use as an accessory, or glue or sew it on to whatever project you want to. If lace is a little too girlie for you, check out our similar DIY for making burlap flowers here.
We hope you have a great start to your summer!
